Nintendo Direct - March 8 Stream update
The livestream has now been put up by Nintendo.
Although you likely won't see anything announced before the scheduled start time of 10pm, you can get the stream set up on your device of choice ahead of time, meaning you'll be able to jump straight in on the action when it starts later this evening.
For further reference, you can read what we're expecting to see in the Direct below.
The most recent leak suggests that we're going to see a Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy release on the Switch. You can read more about that here.
Nintendo Direct March 8 - Call of Duty Update
Today, the internet has been swirling with rumours that Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 was going to get a dedicated Switch version.
It turns out those rumours were false - at least for now: the game has been announced for Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
Developer Treyarch will share more details at a community event on May 17, and the game coming out October 12 for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
Activision is indeed going with the logo 'IIII', too.
There is a chance the game could be announced for Switch at 10pm this evening, however. We'll keep you updated.

Nintendo Direct March 8 - Donkey Konga Update
It looks like we could be getting a Donkey Konga game of some kind on the Nintendo Switch.
On the ResetEra forum, it has come to light that Nintendo filed for a patent for a device that allows the conga peripherals to be plugged into the Nintendo Switch system on August 28, 2017
This patent concerns extended input devices for use with Nintendo Switch. Examples are Donkey Konga drums and a keyboard.
The inventor credited to the patent is Hitoshi Yamazaki who has seventeen other patents with Nintendo (some together with Shigeru Miyamoto). You can view the samples of the patent here.
This could either mean we may get an announcement of a new Donkey Konga title at tonight's Direct, or it could mean that we'll get a reveal of the Switch's long-promised virtual console, with Donkey Konga as a game offered.
Expect to hear more this evening.
Nintendo Direct March 8 - The Wonderful 101 Update
It looks like we could be seeing yet another port get announced at the Nintendo Direct this evening.
A new tweet from infamously outspoken developer Hideki Kamiya has revealed that we may be seeing a Switch port of Wii U action game The Wonderful 101 come to Switch soon, too.
When asked by a fan "Hey Kamiya-san, are you excited for today's Nintendo Direct? I hope Wonderful 101 is announced for Switch today?", the developer replied:
You can see the tweet here.
That little winky knowing face says a lot. Considering how Kamiya is usually quick to shoot down people that bother him, this is an interesting reply.
Could we see The Wonderful 101 ported to Switch? It's looking likely.
Nintendo has announced it will be showing a new Nintendo Direct today, Thursday March 8.
Though a lot of what will be shown during the presentation is a mystery, some of the showcase's content has already leaked (you can read more about that below).
In a tweet published on Wednesday lunchtime, Nintendo confirmed it will be showing more games off on Thursday 8 March at 10pm UK time.
In a tweet from the Nintendo UK Twitter account, the publisher stated:
#NintendoDirect is coming! Tune in on March 8th at 22:00 (UK time) for half an hour of information about upcoming #NintendoSwitch and Nintendo #3DS games, including new details on #MarioTennis Aces.
It's expected that Nintendo will be mostly showing content for the Nintendo Switch, with a small portion of the 30 minute slate dedicated to the 3DS console (perhaps that segment will focus on the upcoming Detective Pikachu mixed media project?)
There are even rumours floating around that Activision will announce Black Ops 4 during the Direct, showing off a special Nintendo Switch version ahead of the bigger PS4 and Xbox One reveal.
This seems very unlikely, but stranger things have happened, and after last Direct's surprise Dark Souls reveal, it certainly pays to keep an open mind.
Read on to find out what's already leaked from the showcase, and what fans are predicting the developer is going to show.
NINTENDO DIRECT MARCH 8 - LEAKS
First up, it looks like Mario Tennis Aces has leaked ahead of the planned reveal during the Nintendo Direct tonight.
The only part of the Direct we knew we could expect to see was Mario Tennis Aces - Nintendo referenced it specifically in the tweet announcing the showcase themselves - but now a lot of information about the game has leaked prematurely.
Initially, Amazon leaked information about the game, then removed the page, making some fans doubt the information they saw. Japanese retailer Ratuken then leaked the information again, confirming the previous leak.
The game will be out on June 22 in Japan, according to the new information.
There's no evidence it'll release at the same time in the UK, though Nintendo is pushing international releases these days.
The cover art and new screenshots also confirm the appearance of Yoshi, Peach, and Rosalina in the game. You can see them in our gallery below.
NINTENDO DIRECT MARCH 8 - RUMOURS
Further to the above leak, it looks like some industry insiders might know a little bit more about what we can expect to see from the Direct this evening.
Videogame forum ResetEra is home to quite a few industry insiders, and has been accurate in the prediction of various announcement and been a hub for rumours since its launch last year.
Whilst discussing the new Nintendo Direct, user Ehoavash noted something interesting:
Heard from a source that bandai namco is indeed making MP4 [Metroid Prime 4]
Smash 4 switch deluxe port is happening this year
And also NSMB U + [New Super Mario Bros U +] port is actually a thing that's also happening lol
Year of ports baby qqq
ResetEra admin Emily followed up this rumour with the following statement:
It's true that Ehoavash has not provided evidence to the Admins that they are in fact in a position to know what they claim to know. Therefore, the admin team can not verify that they are telling the truth.
However, based on what I know about this year, I have no reason to doubt Ehoavash's recent claims. It lines up with what I've personally heard about this year's software lineup.
So it's looking likely that these rumours could be accurate - we already know Nintendo is working on a Metroid Prime 4 title, but whether we'll see more information tonight remains to be seen.
An announcement of New Super Mario Bros U port and a Smash 4 port would also be massively welcome news.
