One of the UK's biggest esports tournaments is the Gfinity Elite Series, where competitors across a series of games compete in professional play, and its third season will, for the first time, include FIFA 18. It will be played in the competition alongside other esports titles, with top-performing teams earning points with each victory.
The Gfinity Elite Series is unique in that each season of play sees teams drafting up players. On January 8, players will be able to compete in the Gfinity Challenger Series, proving their skills ahead of the team draft for the Gfinity Elite Series. The top 40 players in the Gfinity Challenger Series, which anyone can register for, can be selected to play for a team in the Gfinity Elite Series in the February 23 draft, working with a professional esports franchise.

The last season of the Gfinity Elite Series had three games being played: Street Fighter V, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, and Rocket League. There has been no confirmation on whether these three games will be returning for season 3, although it looks like Counter-Strike: Global Offensive has been knocked out in place of FIFA 18, going off the Gfinity Challenger Series site.
The Gfinity Elite Series' FIFA 18 competition is also tied into the FIFA 18 eWorld Cup, a FIFA 18 esports tournament that aims to crown the best FIFA 18 player in the world. The FIFA 18 eWorld Cup will take place in August 2018, with top players at the Gfinity Elite Series fighting for a qualification spot in the FIFA 18 Global Series Playoffs, which lead on to the FIFA 18 eWorld Cup Grand Final 2018.
The third season of the Gfinity Elite Series will begin in March 2018, after teams have drafted their players. Exact prize pools, daily schedules, and confirmation on what games will be involved are likely to be confirmed soon.
