Beyond Good & Evil 2 creative director Michel Ancel and a few members from his development team at Ubisoft Montpellier discussed and shared some concept art for the studio's incredibly ambitious RPG.

During today's Space Monkey Report livestream, the team showcased some concept art for Beyond Good & Evil 2's wide array of different hybrid creatures, like an Egyptian cow goddess and Inuit/walrus hybrid. Concept art for environment ideas were shown as well, including a pirate outpost and underwater civilization. Check out the gallery below for a look at some of the art.

Ubisoft also showed off an array of hybrid creature models the studio can craft using its character creation system. Spaceships will also play a large role in Beyond Good & Evil 2, and the developer offered a peek at the wide assortment of aircrafts players will be able to customize and pilot, which can also be seen in the gallery above.

During the livestream, senior producer Guillaume Brunier said the development team has almost tripled in size since the game was revealed at E3 2017. The main focus at the studio right now is working on building a vibrant and living city that players will be able to explore.

Ancel discussed why he opted to take Beyond Good & Evil 2 in the direction of a prequel. While his original plan was to create a trilogy of games, he realized he wanted to explore the origins of the world presented in the first game and offer more insight into the identity of Jade.

He also stressed that those who wish to play the game solo will be able to experience the main story offline if they wish. However, players will also have to opportunity to connect with friends and experience the story with others, while creating stories unique to their play experiences as they explore the game's massive world.
