The Last Jedi, Wonder Woman, Spider-Man, and more.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi closed out 2017 as the year's highest-grossing movie at the domestic box office, eclipsing the year's longstanding winner Beauty and the Beast. But what other films join these two in 2017's best-performing films in North America?

Check out the gallery or the chart below to find out a breakdown of the year's top 10 grossing films, including their total grosses, as well as their openings.

2017's top three highest-grossing films — The Last Jedi, Beauty and the Beast, and Wonder Woman — all feature female leads and account for a combined $1,449,666,801 at the domestic box office. Wonder Woman set records as the highest-grossing superhero origin film ever, as well as the highest-grossing film to be directed by a woman, Patty Jenkins.

Thanks to Disney's acquisitions in recent years, the studio appears most often of any company in the top 10 with four films. (Should the merger between 21st Century Fox and Disney happen, Disney would own five of 2017's biggest films, as Logan is ranked at No. 9.) Disney actually had five films in 2016's top 10 grossing films domestically. Warner Bros. is the second most-frequent appearing studio in the ranking, with Wonder Woman, Stephen King's IT (via New Line), and Justice League.

Unadjusted for inflation, 2017's Top 10 has two films that made over $500 million each as opposed to 2016's single film Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. But, the 10th highest-grossing film of 2016, Sing, made more (about $270 million) than the bottom three films of 2017's top 10 — Despicable Me 3, Logan, Justice League.) Four 2017 films have also grossed over a billion dollars worldwide — Beauty and the Beast, Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Despicable Me 3, and The Fate of the Furious, which fell just outside of the domestic top 10 as the No. 11 highest-grossing film in North America.

Despite a few strong performers, the year's total box office fell short of 2016's record year, coming in approximately 2.8 percent under last year's haul. 2017 did continue a now three-year trend of the domestic box office hitting over $11 billion, three years in which a Star Wars film has topped the domestic box office every year.

Note that Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Thor: Ragnarok, and Justice League have not completed their box office runs, though this top 10 ranking will still remain largely unchanged.
