Watch Windies T20 captain Carlos Brathwaite kick off 2018 with a catch of the year contender as he dismisses New Zealand's Tom Bruce in stunning style at midwicket
"Carlos Brathwaite, remember the name!" bellowed Ian Bishop after the all-rounder hammered England's Ben Stokes for four sixes in a row to win the World T20 title for Windies in 2016.
Well, Brathwaite, now captain of the Windies' T20 team, put himself in the spotlight again on the first day of 2018 by taking a blinding one-handed catch in his team's game with New Zealand in Mount Maunganui.
Brathwaite is Windies' T20 captain
The 29-year-old launched himself to his right at midwicket and then stuck out his right hand for a stunning grab that dismissed Black Caps batsman Tom Bruce off the bowling of spinner Ashley Nurse in the second T20 international of the three-match series.
There may be a further 364 days in 2018 but fielders around the globe will have to go some to beat the big man from Barbados!
