Francis Coquelin took an odd-looking tumble after injuring his hamstring against Bournemouth on Saturday.
The Arsenal substitute replaced Aaron Ramsey in the second half of the Gunners' 3-0 victory at the Emirates but was soon forced off himself.
Arsene Wenger has since confirmed the midfielder is expected to miss next Sunday's clash at Chelsea, live on Sky Sports Premier League.
"He has a hamstring [problem]," Wenger said at his press conference. "I don't know how bad it is but he's certainly out for next week's game."
Coquelin immediately pulled up when he suffered the non-contact injury and fell to the ground with a flop.
