THE National Rugby League (NRL) 2018 is underway - but how can you watch the action live?


Melbourne Storm are the reigning NRL champions.

Melbourne Storm will go into the new campaign looking to defend their NRL title.

The three-time league winners warmed up for the season with a World Club Challenge victory against Super League holders Leeds Rhinos.

However, the early favourites for the 2018 title are North Queensland Cowboys.

The season got underway on Thursday March 8 and will run until September.

And for the 2018 season there is a brand new platform for users to catch every match live and on demand with some fantastic features.

How can you watch the NRL free in the UK?

A brand new streaming service is being provided by NRL this season for fans outside of Australia and New Zealand.

Every match of the Premiership season, including the Finals Series and Grand Final, will be played live and on demand for subscribers of Watch NRL.

Watch NRL has a free two-weeks trail available for new customers who sign up - meaning you can watch your favourite team in action twice without having to spend a penny.

After the trail a week pass can be purchased at £13, a month at £22 or 12-month season at £125.

Is the NRL shown on TV in the UK?

Alternatively, a selection of matches will be shown by Sky Sports on their Sky Sports Arena channel.

Up to three matches are shown live on Sky Sports every weekend with starts time varying between 5am and 10am.

So Sky customers are therefore able to watch the coverage on Sky Go online and on mobile.

Sky Sports’ broadcasting rights means that all the action can be followed on your desktop or laptop via the Sky Go app, which if you’re an existing customer, is also available on iOS and Android smartphone and tablet devices.
