Jose Mourinho has the full backing of the Manchester United hierarchy

The £89million French midfielder was involved in a furious row with Mourinho during the defeat at Spurs last month.

He then was hooked off moments later and left out of the starting line-up for the next match.

Mourinho was then involved in a huge dressing room bust-up with the former Juventus man and Phil Jones as SunSport exclusively revealed.

And according to the Independent, Executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward is fully behind Mourinho's approach in regards to treating players and in the transfer window.

Ed Woodward has told United players that the manager comes first

Mourinho recently penned a new contract with the club until 2020 and continues to have the complete backing of the hierarchy.

And it will mean he will be given the licence to open the cheque book and make some big money signings again in the summer.

Is Jose Mourinho to blame for Paul Pogba’s failure to shine in big games for Manchester United?

Mourinho has already said that his side have fallen behind rivals Manchester City because of their financial advantage.

He wants to land a new midfielder in the summer, to replace the retiring Michael Carrick, and at least one new central defender.

Juventus ace Blaise Matuidi has been linked with a switch to Old Trafford while Tottenham's Eric Dier and Toni Kroos also believed to be on the shortlist.
