VIEW FROM BOTH SIDES

Hector Bellerin and Eden Hazard share their thoughts on the pulsating 2-2 draw.

HENRY ON MORATA

A former Premier League great on a current striker who did not have the best of evenings...

"The hardest thing in the game is when you have time to score as a striker. The more you think about what you need to do, the more difficult it becomes. When it comes to a reaction goal, he is good at it, but when he is in a one-v-one situation he tends to think too much about what he needs to do.

"If he had a good game today, he could have had three easily. "

Michael Hincks moderator 5pts

DISAPPOINTED CONTE

"I think we must be disappointed; me and my players. Today we had a good chance to win. This is football, and we must accept the final result.

"When you see you are missing a great chance to win the game, for sure there is a bit of disappointment, but it's only the same disappointment as the players. We work together, we win together, we draw together, we lose together. I repeat, it's a pity because we deserved to win the game."

Michael Hincks moderator 5pts

CONTE ON MORATA & MORE

"It's a pity because when you have so many chances to score, you must win the game. But instead we are talking about a draw. It's a good draw against a good team, but in this game, we deserved to win."

On Alvaro Morata... "He's not lucky in this period. He has to continue to work and improve. In this case, it's a pity because he had many chances to score. But at the same time, I am very happy for his effort and commitment."

Michael Hincks moderator 5pts

MORE FROM WENGER

"When you come here you see football, and unfortunately the games are always spoiled by factors you can't master. We can only continue to play the way we want to play, and hope at one stage things will go for us."

Would VAR have helped? "I don't know. I'm too upset to speak about that."

FASCINATING EXCHANGE

Shreeves: You say farcical decision referring to the penalty, is it even worse on the back of the penalty at West Brom?

Wenger: Worse or not worse, we know what we get. Look since the start of the season, it is what we have to take. We have to take it and to fight, but we cannot influence that.

Shreeves: I'm not trying to agitate you, but do you think it is grossly unfair and that you're not being dealt a fair hand?

Wenger: You ask me if it's a penalty, I say it's a farcical decision. You could give 10 penalties like that per game.

Shreeves: Too soft?

Wenger: You decide what you want. Anyway, read the foreign papers what they write about that, and then look after at the English papers, you will see the difference!

Michael Hincks moderator 5pts

WENGER: PENALTY 'FARCICAL'

"It was a fantastic football game. Overall I believe it could have gone both ways, the regret we have is that we were first on the scoring sheet.

"After that, we got again a farcical decision and mentally we were shocked. Then we could have lost the game but we had the resources to come back, and in the end maybe it's a fair result."

OPTA STATS GALORE

  • Arsenal have avoided defeat against Chelsea in their two league meetings of the season (D2) for the first time since 2011/12.
  • Antonio Conte has enjoyed just one victory in his six meetings with the Gunners in all competitions since the start of last season (D3 L2).
  • This game was Arsene Wenger’s 60th meeting with Chelsea in all competitions – making them the side he’s faced the most as Arsenal boss (W22 D17 L21).
  • Jack Wilshere scored his first goal in his last 43 Premier League games, since netting against West Brom in May 2015.
  • Each of the 14 penalties Petr Cech has faced in the Premier League with Arsenal has been scored.

REF WATCH: LIVE

Dermot Gallagher gives his verdict on the Wilshere incident...

"It's not possible to send somebody off for something you didn't see. There is no way the referee can see that situation clearly enough to make a decision.

"Fabregas and Kante are in his line of view. Taylor cannot tell who initiated contact so play must go on."

Michael Hincks moderator 5pts

LUCKY WILSHERE?

WIlshere escaped a second yellow after taking a tumble on the edge of the area, and Carragher says the Arsenal midfielder is a lucky man.

"I think he is fortunate that the referee may just be blocked by Fabregas and Kante. The referee doesn't really know what happened, so he just lets the play go on. He hasn't seen a foul, he hasn't seen a dive. He sees the reaction of players and thinks, 'Well I can't give a decision if I haven't seen it."

Michael Hincks moderator 5pts

CARRA ON COURTOIS

"That was the only way you were going to beat Courtois tonight, with the two goals Arsenal scored. You sometimes forget how good this fella is. We have special goalkeepers in this league.

"Without De Gea and Courtois, Arsenal would have gained four more points."

SHREEVES TALKS TO HAZARD

"It was a really good game. Maybe we should score more goals, we missed a lot of chances, but in the end I think a draw is a good result for both teams.

"Petr did a great job today, but we are just happy. He is a great goalkeeper, and it's always hard to score against him. We know!"

ARSENAL 2-2 CHELSEA

FULL-TIME! WHAT A GAME!

A stunning game ends all-square as Hector Bellerin denies Chelsea all three points late on. However, the visitors will be wondering how Alvaro Morata did not tuck away one of his three chances tonight. The final of those came at the death, but somehow he could not beat Cech.

You have to say a draw is fair, though both sides will be ruing the two points dropped!

Highlights coming very soon.

ARSENAL 2-2 CHELSEA

90+3: WHAT A CHANCE! Morata should steal it at the death, but he can only fire straight at Cech when through on goal.

OFF THE BAR! And then Zappacosta hits the bar with the rebound!

GOAL! ARSENAL 2-2 CHELSEA (Bellerin, 90+2)

Some finish from Bellerin to level for Arsenal late on. The drama! But it's not over yet...

The ball falls kindly for the defender just inside the area and he bends in a terrific effort into the far corner, beyond Courtois who is at full stretch, but can't keep it out!

GARY NEVILLE'S VIEW

Alonso earns plenty of praise from Gary...

"The Arsenal centre-backs are static, but Alonso is on the move and makes a crucial run. It's not an easy finish."

Michael Hincks moderator 5pts

GOAL! ARSENAL 1-2 CHELSEA (Alonso, 84)

Neville called it! But will it be the winner?

It's terrific work from Zappacosta out wide and his low cross is met with a finish most strikers would be proud of, with Alonso calmly using the pace of the ball to steer it past Cech. That's his sixth league goal of the season, more than any other defender.

82: Slight surprise, but relief for Arsenal fans you would imagine, as Hazard heads off for Willian.

Michael Hincks moderator 5pts

ARSENAL 1-1 CHELSEA

Michael Hincks moderator 5pts

ARSENAL 1-1 CHELSEA

77: It's a hold-your-breath moment for Arsenal fans as Hazard back-heels the ball for Morata with the Arsenal defence all over the place. The Belgian storms forward to try and meet Morata's cross but it's too close to Cech.

Steve Mills moderator 5pts

GARY NEVILLE'S VIEW

Our man is very impressed with Chelsea's Number 10 tonight.

"When you see Hazard live playing like this it's wonderful to see... quality and imagination. A joy to watch."

Michael Hincks moderator 5pts

ARSENAL 1-1 CHELSEA

75: Worth noting that Ozil picked up a yellow for his protests of the penalty award. 15 minutes to go in this one - too close to call...

HAZARD LEVEL 100

Michael Hincks moderator 5pts

ARSENAL 1-1 CHELSEA

73: INCHES WIDE! Surprised Kante doesn't get a nosebleed as he ventures forward for Chelsea, but after receiving the return ball from Zappacosta, his effort deflects narrowly wide of Cech's post.

Michael Hincks moderator 5pts

ARSENAL 1-1 CHELSEA

71: WIDE! Conte looks furious. Morata shrugs off Chambers but takes it wide and the Arsenal defender does enough to put off the striker, who can only send his effort wide.

Applause from all corners as Fabregas heads off for Danny Drinkwater.

Michael Hincks moderator 5pts

ARSENAL 1-1 CHELSEA

69: A ball from deep bounces just outside the Arsenal box and Bakayoko manages to chest it down, but it runs away from the midfielder at the vital moment.

Michael Hincks moderator 5pts

GOAL! ARSENAL 1-1 CHELSEA (Hazard, 67 pen)

That lead lasted for all of four minutes...

Hazard makes no mistake by smashing home the penalty to Cech's right.

Steve Mills moderator 5pts

GARY NEVILLE'S VIEW

Gary thinks Arsenal may have been very hard-done-by once again this week...

On first viewing: "There's not much in it at all. That's not a penalty."

On seeing the replays: "It looks like a penalty from the referee's angle. if you go for a challenge like that as a defender and don't make contact with the ball you're asking for trouble."

Michael Hincks moderator 5pts

ARSENAL 1-0 CHELSEA

66: PENALTY TO CHELSEA!!!!

Hazard goes down after Bellerin sticks out a leg, and Taylor points to the spot...

Michael Hincks moderator 5pts

ARSENAL 1-0 CHELSEA

65: That's Wilshere's first Premier League goal for Arsenal since May 2015.

And it could have been two for Arsenal moments later but for a terrific stop from Courtois to deny Lacazette!!

Steve Mills moderator 5pts

GARY NEVILLE'S VIEW

It's a wake-up call for Chelsea, but a brilliant goal from Wilshere says our commentator.

"They've been drifting through this game, Chelsea, but to beat Courtois from that angle, it had to be perfect. I think this is unstoppable from Wilshere."

GOAL! ARSENAL 1-0 CHELSEA (Wilshere, 63)

Jack is back!

Holding's ball into the box deflects off Morata and into the path of Wilshere... it's a narrow angle for the midfielder but he rifles in a shot into the near top corner. Unstoppable strike.
