Super Smash Bros is headed to the Nintendo Switch in 2018.
Super Smash Bros is coming to the Nintendo Switch this year.
At the very end of today's Nintendo Direct, the Japanese game maker dropped a pretty great teaser trailer for what will almost certainly be one of the Nintendo Switch's biggest games of 2018.
Nintendo hasn't released the official title of the game yet, calling it just Nintendo Switch Super Smash Bros for the time being. What this means, however, is that it's not just a port of the Wii U's Super Smash Bros 4.
The teaser shows us a shadowy Mario and Link, but also two inklings from Splatoon 2.
Here's a mysterious looking plumber:
And here's how everyone looked when they saw what this trailer was actually about:
The Inklings are headed to Super Smash Bros.
Check it out:
Nintendo also showed off footage for a bunch of other games including a single-player expansion for Splatoon 2, the Crash Bandicoot N Sane Trilogy, Undertale, Dark Souls Remastered and more including Mario Tennis Aces. Stay tuned for a complete round-up and analysis tomorrow. Even South Park: The Fractured But Whole is coming to the Switch. That's...kind of incredible.
The Super Smash Bros reveal stole the show, of course, and all but ensures yet another huge year for the Nintendo Switch.
Link will be in Super Smash Bros on Nintendo Switch.
Oddly enough, today turned out to be quite possibly the biggest day for game announcements so far in 2018. Nintendo's flurry of reveals capped off a day that also included the announcement of The Division 2 and Call Of Duty: Black Ops 4. Pretty crazy.
In any case, hopefully we learn more about this new Smash game soon. I'm not a very good Smash player but it sure is a lot of fun.
