FÉDÉRATION DE LUTTE ICWWRESTLERS: Eric Denis died in the ring during a charity match in Montreal
Eric Denis, 40, collapsed while competing in the ICW Fighting Federation event at the Church of the Most Holy Redeemer in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
The 20-year-veteran was treated in the ring by first-aiders but died before he could be resuscitated.
He was hailed as “extremely talented” and a “super father” – leaving behind six children.
Denis was wrestling to raise money for sufferers of the condition Crohn’s disease, which is inflammation of the gut.

Danny Kidman, coordinator of the ICW wrestling, said described his death as “terrible”.
He said: "Despite the alarming and tragic situation, the whole situation was under control.
"We were extremely fortunate to have qualified staff for a situation like that. “
Some of wrestlings’ biggest stars ever come from Quebec, which has a vibrant professional and independent scene.
Top WWE stars Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn are both from the area, along with legends such as Rick Martel and Pat Patterson.
Montreal is also regularly visited by the WWE for live shows.
Medical staff attempted to treat the wrestler before he was declared dead by paramedics.
ICW will be be holding a tribute show in Denis’s memory on Saturday.
Earlier this year, indy wrestler William Ogletree died in the ring after taking a spine buster slam.
