The freaky footage shows a bike sailing down the carriageway - with no rider on board.

Shot in an unknown city in Malaysia, the 10-second clip has been viewed more than 1.5million times and received 13,000 shares since being posted online.  

The video shows a rider, hunched over his own motorbike, looking back towards the person filming as the phantom bike zooms down the other side of the carriageway.

Eeerie footage shows the vehicle slowly slide into view.

Neither the biker nor the cameraman have been identified.

But netizens were quick to pass judgement on the clip. 

One said: 'Oh my goodness, this is so eerie. I'm getting goosebumps. If it were me, I would turn the throttle to the maximum and get out of there.' 

Another joked: 'This ghost must have died due to rempit. it's giving a warning to others so we don't end up like that.'

Mat Rempit is a Malaysian term for an individual who participates in immoral activities and public disturbance using a motorcycle as their main form of transport.

But other online viewers were not convinced by the video's authenticity. 

One said: 'This is a fabricated video. Judging from the angle you can already tell that the rider is hiding on the other side of the bike to hide from the camera.' 

While another eagle eyed viewer added: 'My boyfriend said that the rider actually fell down from the bike that is why the motor was still moving even without a rider.. Only God knows.'
