Hall, 28, later admitted being drunk in charge of a vehicle.

But the secretary begged JPs to spare her a driving ban because she would suffer “exceptional hardship” if forced to use public transport.

The mum-of-one told Manchester magistrates that she had already been disciplined by bosses for being late to work.

She said: “I know if I get a driving ban I will lose my job. I already have a disciplinary for not being on time to work.”

Ms Hall, of Sale, Cheshire, added: “I have to travel to London, Derby and all round Manchester. It’s really important for me to drive to work for these events.”

But JP Susan Craig told her: “You have the ability to use public transport to get to work.”

Magistrates slapped her with a six-month disqualification from driving.
