The controversial ex Two and A Half Men star, who hit headlines with his coke binges and Tiger Blood rap, has risked fury again with his 9/11 conspiracy.
The truther has stood by his belief that the terror attacks in New York were actually ordered by the US government when George Bush was in power.
He insists he was “parroting those a lot smarter than myself” with his claim – that Bush used the attacks as a way to create a war with Iraq.
Yet bizarrely he stars in a real-life disaster film about the attacks which comes out today ahead of the 16th anniversary of 9/11.
GETTY9/11 TRUTHIST: Charlie Sheen believes the is a conspiracy theory behind the attacks
The movie, which sees Sheen play a businessman who gets trapped in a lift inside the north tower when the plane crashes into the building, has already attracted huge criticism because of Sheen’s role.
And the actor has risked further outrage in an interview the day before the release, saying that he would not have been in the film if it told the story of who was behind the destruction.
“I know I got lot of heat for the opinions I had that weren't just my own," Sheen told The Hollywood Reporter.
"I was not just coming up with stuff about 9/11. I was parroting those a lot smarter and a lot more experienced than myself, who had very similar questions. If I offended anyone, I apologise and if I inspired anyone, then so be it."

Revealing why he decided to take on the role, Sheen said: "I saw it as an opportunity to do something dramatic, something I had not done in a long time.
”And I also saw it as a possibility to deliver something focused on the people in a very specific event."
"It is still a time when we really came together as a country, as a people. And I think given where we are at right now, maybe it is nice reminder, in spite of what led us there, to be more unified, be more united."
When the trailer for the film was released, many people took to social media to voice their anger at Sheen being cast.
One person wrote on Twitter: “I watched a trailer for a movie called "9/11" starring Charlie Sheen and it's awful and manipulative and makes me mad at everyone involved.”
Another said: “This Charlie Sheen 9/11 movie trailer is Extremely Tasteless and Incredibly Unnecessary. I wish that wasn't a real sentence but yay jokes?”
The US film’s synopsis on IMDB reads: “A group of 5 people find themselves trapped in an elevator in the World Trade Center's North Tower on 9/11. They work together, never giving up hope, to try to escape before the unthinkable happens.”
