Deployed from Travis Air Force Base the pilots head towards Senior Airman Smith for refuelling.
According to the Joint Forced Youtube Channel, he is known for his “creative, morale-boosting conversation methods of having riddles or jokes”.
In this particular clip, an F-22 aircraft is seen refuelling thousands of feet above the ground.
Airman begins the conversation by challenging the pilot to take part in a riddle.
The pilot responds “Alright, let's hear it.”
Smith challenges the pilot to answer the question “I can run, but I cannot walk, what am I?”
After a particularly long silence form the pilot, and some prompting from Smith the answer is revealed.

However, the conversation moves on to a more pressing topic of how pilots really pass time whilst thousands of feet in the air.
Smith reveals he often finds himself looking out and the stars “just thinking about space”.
