Happier times: Former bandmates Sarah Harding and Cheryl appeared to take steps towards rebuilding a friendship with a Twitter exchange on Wednesday

When Sarah entered the CBB house earlier this year she added fuel to the feud fire in a chat with housemate Jemma Lucy, as she cryptically noted that 'nothing lasts forever' when discussing her friendships with her Girls Aloud bandmates.

Asked whether she was on good terms with Cheryl, Sarah dodged the question, but admitted they hadn't spoken since 2014, as she revealed: 'I haven’t spoken to her in a while since when we were doing The Xtra Factor and stuff.'

As Jemma probed further, asking 'did you fall out?' Sarah sighed: 'Everyone’s asking that! We’re just so busy with our own stuff and you know what I mean...It’s not for me to say. I don’t like bringing it up - talking about the other girls if it’s a personal thing.'

Now however, she seems to have taken a U-turn having spotted Cheryl's message, which many deemed to be a hint to a return to music, reading: 'Yoo hoo can you tweet me the songs from my albums that you think should've been singles please'.

Sarah could not resist replying to her old friend, saying: 'Hey stranger!...U know FFTL will always be the one #TrueToTheGame', to which Cheryl penned: '#alwaystrue'.

MailOnline has approached representatives for Cheryl and Sarah for comment.

The exchange comes shortly after they were both helping raise money at the star-studded BGC Charity Day in London on Monday afternoon - meaning a possible meet could have taken place on the trading floor.

In the CBB house, Sarah was hinting that there had been a fall out of sorts, she continued: 'We were like sisters so of course it was never going to be plain sailing the whole time - being around girls all the time it’s difficult sometimes.

Nothing forever? 'Nothings forever. We went through a lot together so nothing lasts forever. Even if we had fell out I'm sure it wouldn’t be a major deal in the future'

Sarah's comments came following claims that the pair were in a feud.

Days before she entered the CBB house, it was reported that Cheryl had dished out the ultimate A-list snub, by unfollowing Sarah on Twitter.

Snub? Days before she entered the CBB house, it was reported that Cheryl had dished out the ultimate A-list snub, by unfollowing Sarah on Twitter

According to The Sun on Sunday, the brunette beauty - who has become a mother for the first time with Liam Payne - unfollowed the blonde bombshell as recently as last week.

A source then told MailOnline: 'Cheryl hasn't unfollowed Sarah recently, it was over a year ago. She still follows Sarah on Instagram as Cheryl is on there more often.'

But Sarah seemed to take a swipe back, as shortly after the report became public, she took to Instagram to upload a quote, which read: 'REMINDER: Those who hurt you will eventually face their own karma.'
