Empowering: Nina Agdal reached out to her fans as she shared a motivational post on body image on Instagram on Thursday

Posing by a scenic sea, the Danish beauty flaunted her leggy pins and washboard abs as she slipped into a polka dot two-piece.

The IMG model showcased her natural beauty as she went make-up free, and tied her locks into a sleek bun.

In the lengthy caption, Nina related to her followers as she touched on confidence: 'I think we all go through phases of feeling great about ourselves, and phases where we tend to look in the mirror and only see our “flaws”.'

Former struggles: The Victoria Secret's model, 26, insisted she has struggled with embracing her appearance in the past (pictured October 2015)

Revealing she once tackled body image issues, the blonde bombshell continued: 'I have been a size 0 and I've been a size 8, I’ve been told i was too skinny, I’ve been told i needed to lose weight...even though I've had some negative comments from people in my industry, this battle has been going on in my own head.'

'I do believe were our own worst critic. Self criticism is just as tough if not tougher than criticism from other people. Its an internal battle with yourself, that many women and men deal with', she added.

Detailing her personal struggles, she went on: 'I’ve had times in my life, just like some of you reading this, where I wasn’t comfortable in a swimsuit, or even a pair of skinny jeans, because of that muffin top or because i thought my butt was too big.'

'We go through phases': In the lengthy caption, the Danish beauty related to her followers as she touched on confidence

'I’ve always had a hard time feeling comfortable wearing shirts or dresses that enhances my breast or my shoulders because of what i thought i saw when i looked in that mirror', Nina said.

Insisting that it's a universal theme, the Sports Illustrated star said: 'I thought my breasts were “too much” and i wanted to hide my “swimmer shoulders”. We all have our insecurities and that's okay. What is important is that we don't turn it into an illusion that we are not good enough, and that we address it.'

'All these “flaws” are perfect because that's what makes you you. If we all looked the same it would be a pretty boring place to be living in. I am finally in a place where i can look myself in the mirror, smile and say “you look great", she stated.

'Embracing your flaws': The blonde bombshell revealed she's overcome her battles as she urged her followers to 'take care of mental health'

Revealing she's overcome her battles, the statuesque star went on: 'I’ve come to this place by realizing what's important and what's not. And by practising self love and self care.'Take care of your body, its your home for life.'

In her last piece of advice, she concluded the post: 'Take care of your mental health, how you treat and speak to AND about yourself. That will determine how you look at you and everything else around you. Embrace your flaws, you wouldn’t be you without them.'

Nina embarked on her successful career at the tender age of 18, and has cemented her place in the modelling industry ever since.

And Nina confirmed that things were heating up between her and Jack on Watch What Happens LIVE with Andy Cohen in February.
