Where is Kiri set?
Kiri started on Channel 4 in the New Year with the first episode airing on Channel 4 on January 10.
The show asks questions about race, adoption and the media following the disappearnace of a little black girl (Felicia Mukasa).
She is abducted by her father while on a visit with her biological grandparents.
Kiri was set to be going into adoption with white foster parents and is later found dead.
Blame is quickly put on the social work who set up the unsupervised visit for the child.
Kiri is set in Bristol around the Gloucester Road area, in the suburbs of St Andrew’s, Bishopston and Horfield.
The show follows social worker Miriam Grayson (played by Sarah Lancashire), who works in this area of Bristol and exterior shots were filmed in the area.
Speaking about filming in Bristol, Sarah Lancashire said: “It’s Miriam’s patch. It’s fantastic, vibrant, really colourful, really edgy, completely non-conformist, which is very much who she is. They sort of complement one another.
The Happy Valley actress added: “To be honest, I didn’t know Gloucester Road in Bristol, I hadn’t heard of it, but one of my sons is very familiar with it, because he was at university there.”

Channel 4The search for Kiri causes a media storm
A public area called The Downs was used in scenes where volunteers search for missing Kiri and the Cumberland Basin at the Bristol Docks also feature.
It was an “exciting” place to film according to Sarah, who had to master the art of the Bristolian accent for the role.
“I found the accent by kind of shutting myself away at home with a few YouTube clips, finding accents and just listening and hoping,” she said.
