Here's How Many Calories Are in Donald Trump's Outrageous McDonald's Dinner Order

The president's fast food order surpasses the recommended calorie intake for the day with just one meal.

What he order? Fish filet… and a whole lot else.

President Donald Trump‘s undying love for fast food made its way back into headlines this week when his ex-campaign manager Corey Lewandowski and another ex-top aide David Bossie released their new book, Let Trump Be Trump, revealing the president’s McDonald’s dinner order while on the campaign trail.

The Washington Post, which obtained an advance copy of the book, reported that he once ordered “two Big Macs, two Fillet-O-Fish, and a chocolate malted.” As our sister publication Extra Crispy points out, the fast food chain does not offer a “chocolate malted”—but if you assume he was referring to the restaurant’s chocolate milkshake, the president’s meal would clock in at 2,530 calories with 114g fat and 3530mg sodium.

When you consider that the USDA recommends 71-year-old, moderately active males consume 2,200 calories per day, Trump had already gone over his calorie needs for the day with just one meal. The sodium count of the McDonald’s meal also more than doubles the recommended intake of 1,500mg by the American Heart Association.

Trump’s affinity for the drive-thru is no surprise, but just how far his top aides would go to please his appetite could be considered shocking.

“On Trump Force One there were four major food groups: McDonald’s, Kentucky Fried Chicken, pizza and Diet Coke,” the authors write, while adding that the cupboards on Trump’s plane were stocked with Vienna Fingers, potato chips, pretzels and many packages of Oreos.

Lewandowski and Bossie also note that “the orchestrating and timing of Mr. Trump’s meals was as important as any other aspect of his march to the presidency.”
