The East Coast of the United States just sustained another hit from a chilly weather system.

And Hailee Steinfeld was dressed quite appropriately for the cold snap, as she shopped in New York City on Thursday.

The 21-year-old True Grit starlet opted for a cozy all black ensemble for the afternoon.

Staying warm! Hailee Steinfeld was dressed quite appropriately for the cold snap, as she shopped in New York City on Thursday

She kept warm in a thick black leather trench coat, which also featured a fuzzy fleece lining.

While she kept the garment secured with her arm, it did fall open at one point, revealing a white satiny top.

She paired some warm-looking black leggings with chunky black combat-style boots.

Her brunette locks were mostly covered by a sizable black beret, which no doubt also helped keep the Pitch Perfect 3 star from getting too cold.

Other accessories included a small leather handbag, a matching wallet and she even donned some cat eye shades for a moment of sun.

The LA native looked to be mostly make-up free save for some light eye-liner and a dash of rose-colored lipstick.

While she was ostensibly out to shop, it wasn't clear how well the expedition was going, as she was seen exiting several stores with no bags in tow.

As a major cereal lover, the Oscar nominee made sure to snag a photo with her favorite Kellogg's characters Tony The Tiger and Toucan Sam.

'I have a high key obsession with cereal,' she told Megyn Kelly. 'It's my go to meal and snack.'

Steinfeld also recently collaborated with BloodPop to write the hit-single Capital Letters for the Fifty Shades Freed soundtrack
