What was Jackson Odell's cause of death?

On June 8, 2018, Jackson was found dead at his home in the San Fernando Valley.

Jackson was found "unresponsive in a sober living home" according to TMZ.

The US online publication reported: "We're told he was found unresponsive in a sober living home, and there were no signs of foul play."

Sober living homes are group homes for people who are recovering from addiction issues.

How old was The Goldbergs and iCarly star?

The 20-year-old is perhaps best known for playing student Ari Caldwell in ABC comedy The Goldbergs.

Jackson scored his first acting role in TV show Private Practice when he just 12-years-old.

Since then, he's starred in several hit TV shows including iCarly, Modern Family and Arrested Development.

He was also a musician and wrote several songs for the 2018 film Forever My Girl.

What has his family said?

In a statement obtained by TMZ, Jackson's family said: "The Odell family has lost our beloved son and brother, Jackson Odell.

"He will always be a shining light and a brilliant, loving and talented soul. He had so much more to share.

"Our family will always carry that truth forward. Our wish is that the rest of the world does as well."

The statement concluded: "We are now going to try to make sense of our immeasurable loss privately."
