Legs for days! Gemma Arterton displayed the quirkier side to her style on Wednesday, as she arrived at the Toronto International Film Festival in a striking short suit

They've got chemistry: The actress, 31, stunned in the matching checked jacket and cropped bottoms combo, as she joked with her co-star Dominic Cooper at the premiere of The Escape

The actress certainly turned heads in the quirky ensemble, which saw a classic checked suit jacket paired with tiny high-waisted shorts.

The blazer remained classic in style, with traditional lapels and a grey plaid pattern, but the look was made sexier by the bottoms - which left her enviably long and slender legs on show.

Keeping all eyes on her striking look and enviably svelte figure, the British beauty layered a simple black vest underneath, and added matching heeled sandals.

Slicking her famous bob away from her face and opting for minimal make-up, Gemma showcased her enviably clear and glowing complexion to all as she posed for cameras.

Meanwhile her co-star Dominic looked typically suave in a clean-cut burgundy suit, layered on top of a black shirt and tie.

Posing beside Gemma on the carpet, the pair were then seen laughing and joking together as they patiently awaited the debut of their new film.

The Escape focuses on the idea of women who leave their children and families - with Gemma portraying struggling mother-of-two Tara, who buys a one-way ticket from London to Paris, following a fight with her husband Mark (Cooper).

The film premiered in the Special Presentations section of TIFF, and is set to hit cinemas later this year.

Gemma's high spirited demeanour meanwhile may have been due to her reported new romance with actor Rory Keenan, 37.

The pair were reportedly seen kissing at the the British Summer Time festival in London's Hyde Park in July, and are rumoured to have been dating for months - after both appearing in West End play Saint Joan.

The actress split from her last serious boyfriend Franklin Ohanessian in October 2016.

The pair met on the set of 2014 film The Voices, and Franklin, an assistant director, went on to work with her in the arthouse movie Gemma Bovery.

Metallica bring WorldWired tour to Europe in spectacular style

It’s been over 35 years since a quartet of young, volatile, new wave of British heavy metal fanatics (NWOBHM for short) played their first ever show supporting denim and leather traditionalists Saxon at the Whiskey A Go Go in Hollywood. The four youthful, perma-drunk reprobates were paid a mere $16 for that first show and it’s fair to say that the pay cheque is not the only thing to have changed considerably in the intervening years.
