Menacing Maguire (Patrick Bergin) can be seen towering over injured Carter (Danny Dyer) while wielding his weapon of choice in an aggressive stance.

Blood can be seen smeared across Mick's face as he cowers down on the piano as he clutches hold of his body to protect himself against Aiden's whip.

Earlier in the episode, the gangster can be seen threatening the Albert Square hero with a lit match in the middle of the residents' favourite pub.

Evil Aiden appears even more frightening as he is flanked by a group of six tough looking men, while Mick is left to fight them on his own.

No doubt this chilling snap of their clash captures the moment where the brutal violence escalates from.

How will it end? Flanked by a group of tough men, the gangster can be seen threatening the Albert Square hero with a lit match in the middle of the residents' favourite pub

Although it isn't clear how the showdown will unfold, it certainly promises to be a dramatic and unnerving watch.

EastEnders fans already watched in terror when Aiden gave the Carters the terrifying ultimatum to fork out money, although they don't really owe him any, or face death.

In a previous episode, the Irish gangster threatened his enemy: 'You lie to me, steal from me, and now you grass on me!'

With the courage to stand up to him, Mick declared in response to the chilling threats: 'Over my dead body!'

'That may be the case,' Aiden added. 'Every penny you owe or you are a dead man!'

Driven wild by fear, Mick has considered hiring a hitman to get rid of the villain but the plan was left in tatters when Billy and Vincent backed out last minute.
