TIPPED: Jake Quickenden could be set for a role on Coronation Street

The Dancing on Ice favourite has done a lot of different things during his showbiz career so far.

Jake started out on The X Factor, being eliminated in just the third week of live shows in 2014.

Later that year he headed Down Under to star in I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! and came in second place.

Then in 2017 he trained for The Jump, however never took part as he was just a reserve contestant.

But it seems he might have taken to it like a natural, as he's impressed viewers with his talent in another winter sport.

GOOD WORD: Could Brooke Vincent land Jake a spot on Corrie?

“He's tried his hand at singing, skating and surviving in the jungle, and now it looks as though Jake will be the latest pop star for a stint on the cobbles”

Now though, bookmakers Ladbrokes reckon Jake will soon turn his hand to acting, starring alongside his Dancing on Ice co-star.

The bookies have released odds of just 2/1 that Jake will join the Coronation Street cast in the next 12 months.

Alex Apati from Ladbrokes said: "He's tried his hand at singing, skating and surviving in the jungle, and now it looks as though Jake will be the latest pop star for a stint on the cobbles."

Could Dancing on Ice's Brooke Vincent put in a good word for him when she's back on the Manchester set?

REALITY STAR: Jake has appeared on X Factor, I'm A Celeb, The Jump and now Dancing on Ice

If Jake does join the Corrie cast, he'll be the latest in a long line of singers and celebrities to appear.

Kym Marsh and Shayne Ward are both regulars on the soap, playing Michelle Connor and Aidan Connor respectively.

Former Girls Aloud singer and Celebrity Big Brother champ Sarah Harding made five appearances as Joni Preston, Robert Preston's (Tristan Gemmill) ex-wife.

FAVOURITE: Jake Quickenden looks likely to win Dancing on Ice

Comedians Peter Kay and Jim Moir, Boyzone's Keith Duffy and movie stars Ian McKellen, Anna Friel and Patrick Stewart have also had roles of varying levels.

It isn't just Corrie that has welcomed established celebrities onto the show, as EastEnders, Hollyoaks and Neighbours have too.

S Club's Hannah Spearritt appeared in a few episodes of EastEnders last year, Geordie Shore's Scotty T had a cameo in Neighbours, while Blue's Duncan James starred in Hollyoaks.

Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays on ITV.
