Chad, 36, released a statement about his five-month marriage with Sophia, 35. The One Tree Hill star said he 'would never marry for any reason but love.'

Chad Michael Murray has fired back at ex-wife Sophia Bush after the One Tree Hill actress claimed she felt pressured into marrying him in 2005.

In a statement to People, Chad's PR rep said the 'story is ludicrous'. The 36-year-old met Sophia, 35, on the set of One Tree Hill where they dated for two years before tying the knot.

'Chad conducts himself in a completely professional manner and would never marry for any reason but love,' the rep continued.

Controversy: Chad Michael Murray, 36, has fired back at ex-wife Sophia Bush, 35, after she said she felt pressured into marrying him in 2005

Face-off: Sophia, pictured on Tuesday, and Chad, pictured in March, dated for two years before marrying. They separated just five months later

'Thirteen years since his divorce from Sophia, he has a very happy family life with his wife and children.'

The rep added: 'He has completely moved on and doesn't feel the need to engage in this type of behavior.'

The marriage lasted only lasted for five months before the pair separated. But Sophia and Chad still had to work together on the set of their hit TV show while dealing with the separation.

Chad left One Tree Hill in 2009 after appearing on the show for six seasons. He has since married actress and model Sarah Roemer, 33 - who is best known for her role in the movie Disturbia starring Shia Labeouf.

The couple has two children together.

Sophia sparked the controversy over her relationship with her ex after she appeared onAndy Cohen's SiriusXM radio show this week where she confessed she felt pressured into marriage at 22-years-old.

The star said that 'everybody's 22 and stupid,' and added that the marriage was 'not a thing I actually really wanted to do'.

She recalled guiltily accepting the match, telling Andy it was 'Because how do you let everybody down? And how do you - what's the fight?'

Old flames: The pair met on the set of One Tree Hill and starred in the show for six seasons before Chad left to pursue other interests

Happily married: In a statement from his rep, Chad revealed the story was 'ludicrous'. He is now married to actress Sarah Roemer, 33, and they have two children together

Sophia went on: 'And when you have bosses telling you that you're the only person who gets a person to work on time, and 200 people either get to see their kids at night or they don't, because our days start on time.'

The Pasadena-born actress, who spent nine years on One Tree Hill until 2012, dished: 'What the public knows ever is never - it's not the tip of the iceberg.'

She and her co-star Hilarie Burton 'used to laugh, and we were like: 'If we had a behind-the-scenes show, the drama would be so much f***ing better than the drama that the writers write.''

One Tree Hill's creator Mark Schwahn had sexual harassment allegations surface against him last November at the height of the #MeToo scandals and lost his job heading E!'s drama The Royals.

Sophia was one of the accusers, telling Andy: 'I mean, look, we're not the only group of girls who ever had a boss that was a pig.'

The show was filmed in Wilmington, North Carolina, but 'Our writer was in LA, so we had plenty of time where he wasn't on set. When you have to be on set, day in and day out, with somebody who is so vile, it's a different story.'

She shared: 'So, we had great sort of highlight-reel, coming-of-age, rom-com s*** together, and then we also had, like, batten-down-the-hatches-he's-coming.'

Glowing: The Chicago PD star was in New York on Wednesday to promote the new Incredibles 2 movie, and looked dressed to the nines in a shiny skirt and floral blouse

Drama!: Sophia revealed she and her co-star Hilarie Burton 'used to laugh, and we were like: 'If we had a behind-the-scenes show, the drama would be so much f***ing better

Sophia recalled: 'Look, you know, my mom's like a crazy Italian lady from New Jersey. The first time Mark Schwahn grabbed my a**, I hit him in front of six other producers, and I hit him f***ing hard.

'And he came back to LA, and I was told years later by one of the then-writers, who became an EP, that he came back being like: 'That f***ing entitled b****. Who does she think she is?'

'And this very sweet man named Mike, who I love and is like a ride-or-die for me, was like: 'Maybe you just shouldn't touch the girls.' And, you know, Mark gave him the option of like: 'Shut up or keep your - like, shut up and keep your job or get out.'

'So, it was unhealthy for everybody, but in a way, I was so - you know, I was 21 and I, like - I didn't know, and it was very clear to him to stay away from me.'

Yet and still, 'We knew about things he'd say to people. We knew about the, like, late-night texts. We knew when he was super obsessed with one girl on our show that he started trying to bang down her do- her hotel room door in the middle of the night.

'And she had to be moved. Her rooms were moved, and then her boyfriend came and stayed with her for the next month. And literally, like, it almost came to fisticuffs between the two of them.'

Sophia was glimpsed that day stepping out in New York City in the outfit she wore on SiriusXM, which included a high-waisted black sequined miniskirt.

She complemented her bottoms with black hose and a pair of black leather boots, swinging along a bright orange clutch as she went on her way.
